Frueauf Named Recreation Services Employee of the Month

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Oct. 12, 2009 - The Department of Recreation Services announced that Courtney Frueauf, a senior from Fenton, Mo., has been named the September 2009 “Employee of the Month” for her service in the Department of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University.

The Recreational Sports Employee of the Month is the highest achievement award given to the Department of Recreational Sports student employees for going “above and beyond” the normal call of duty to assist the program, patrons and users of Southeast’s recreational facilities.

Frueauf, an exercise science major, is a current group exercise instructor for the Department of Recreation Services.  She instructs circuit training, kickboxing, cardio mix and boot camp classes and is a personal trainer for the department, serving many clients each semester.  She recently was involved in promoting the "AlcoholEDU" program for all new students on campus and was instrumental in publicizing it to students through direct marketing in the Student Recreation Centers.  Courtney has a national certification to teach group exercise and personal training.

"Courtney is an outstanding young lady that does a great job for the department and students at Southeast,” said Troy Vaughn, director of Recreation Services at Southeast.

Frueauf hopes to earn her master's degree in sports or exercise science and become a National Strength and Conditioning Association certified strength and conditioning specialist.
