March 26-29, Southeast Missouri State University Greek Life will be sponsoring a blood drive on campus.
The drive will be located at the Student Recreation Center, and the hours are 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. all four days. This drive will be the precursor to the Greek Week Activities that will take place in the following weeks. The Spring 2023 Blood Drive is open to all students, faculty, staff, and the Cape Girardeau community. The goal is to collect around 790 units of blood or more. In the past two years, we have collected 1,011 units in 2021 and 871 units in 2022.
During the blood drive, we will be holding a contest between each of the colleges. After you donate your unit of blood, you will go to the check-out table and tell us which college you are a part of. This will be for students, faculty, and staff. If you have more than one major or minor in different colleges, then we will make you down for each of them. At the end of the two-day drive, we will tally up how many people participated from each of the colleges. We will then calculate a percentage based on how many students, faculty, and staff are in that college. The college with the highest percentage of donors will receive a blood drop trophy to signify their win.
Before the drive begins, make sure you make your appointments online, on the application, or call 1-800-REDCROSS. The sponsor code is SEMOGreekWeek. This is very important for helping to keep things on schedule. Finally, encourage others to come donate with you!
