Patrick Rafferty Classical Guitar, Guitar Ensemble, Adjunct Faculty Patrick Rafferty began his studies of the classical guitar in 2000, earning a B.Mus. in guitar performance from Southeast Missouri State University in 2004 where he studied with Jeffrey Noonan. He continued his studies at the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, earning the Master of Music degree in 2006 and the Graduate Performance Diploma in 2008 under Julian Gray. At Peabody, Patrick gave numerous performances, most notably in the classes of Manuel Barrueco and as a featured performer in the Thursday Noon Concert Series. In May 2008, Patrick was voted the top graduate performer by his peers at Peabody. As a soloist, Patrick has appeared with the Gateway Orchestra of Debary, Florida and the Southeast Missouri State University Orchestra in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Patrick has been featured as a guest performer on KRCU with Tom Harte and the “Cafe Concerto” radio program. While a student at Southeast, Patrick won several performance awards including the Southeast Missouri State University Concerto Competition in 2004 and first place in the Missouri Music Teachers Association in 2003. He has performed in the Alexandria Guitar Fest and Mid-America Guitar Festival and has given concerts across the eastern seaboard and throughout the Midwest. In the past, he has served on the faculties of The Music Workshop in Baltimore, The Southeast Missouri State University Music Academy, and The Woodbridge Music School in Columbia, Maryland. He currently teaches Classical Guitar as an Adjunct Faculty member at Southeast Missouri State University. Office: River Campus Seminary 258B |
