Matt Yount Matt Yount holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics, a bachelor of music degree in piano performance, and a master's degree in music education, all from Southeast Missouri State University. He has won several competitions including the Missouri Music Teacher's Association student auditions and the Concerto and Aria Competition at Southeast Missouri State University. For the last four years, Yount has served as collaborative pianist for the Department of Music. He is a full-time instructor of music for the department, teaching music appreciation and jazz appreciation courses. He also has taught piano for eleven years for the Southeast Missouri Music Academy. Yount is frequently featured in departmental concerts and recitals, accompanying faculty programs as well as degree recitals for juniors, seniors and graduate students. His collaborations with visiting artists for master classes, festivals, and recitals have featured performing artists affiliated with universities, symphony orchestras, opera companies, and bands from across the United States and abroad. He frequently performs with the "Sultans of Swing" faculty jazz combo. Office phone: (573) 651-2897 |
