Leslie Jones Applied Voice, Music Theater/Opera Workshop Dr. Leslie Jones is an associate professor of music at Southeast Missouri State University. She received her B.M. and M.M. from Southeastern Louisiana University and her D.M.A. from the Conservatory of Music at University of Missouri-Kansas City. A contralto, Dr. Jones specializes in music for low women's voices. Her doctoral dissertation deals with special considerations for the contralto voice, including the types of operatic roles available. At Southeast, Dr. Jones co-directs the Opera/Music Theatre Workshop and teaches studio voice, diction and music appreciation. In addition to teaching at Southeast, she has taught in a summer vocal program in Massachusetts, the Berkshire Choral Festival.
