James Sifferman Applied Piano Dr. James Sifferman holds degrees from the University of Washington (Phi Beta Kappa), The Juilliard School, and the University of Texas at Austin where he studied with teachers Bela Siki, Ania Dorfmann, John Perry and Gregory Allen. Dr. Sifferman has been a winner in a number of important competitions, including the Pittsburgh Three Rivers competition and the National Beethoven Sonata competition in Memphis. In addition to his New York debut at Carnegie Hall, Dr. Sifferman has performed extensively throughout the United States, as well as in Canada, Mexico, Europe and the Far East, and has appeared as concerto soloist with numerous orchestras. He has toured on the Columbia Artists Community Concert Series and in 1992, he performed in recital on the legendary Horowitz Steinway.
