Brian Tapp serves as the Director of Outreach for the Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and focuses on service delivery for internal and external clients. These efforts include collaboration with local, regional, state, and federal agencies and organizations to develop initiatives that accelerate entrepreneurship and economic development.
In 1999, Brian was named the Executive Director at Southwest Iowa Regional Planning Commission and led the organization to provide a wide range of services for the four county region. His experience in planning, economic development, transportation, and business financial programs led to his naming as the Chairman of RPO America through the National Association of Development Organizations and the lead the dialogue on the importance of rural transportation planning and the integration of economic development policies. Other leadership activities included serving as the Chairman for the Council of Government Associations for Arizona and Iowa respectively.
He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science in 1992 and also earned a Master of Arts in Economics from Western Illinois in 1993. Brian began his professional career by conducting business flood recovery efforts in 1993 and focused on program implementation and business assistance with local, state, and federal agencies.
