River Campus Open House

The Southeast River Campus is marking its 10-year anniversary during the 2016-17 academic year and as part of the anniversary celebration the River Campus is hosting an open house and facility tours for alumni and the general public. Alumni Art Exhibit Reception

4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Dobbins Center Gallery on the Southeast River Campus.
This free reception marks the opening of a month-long exhibit of works by Southeast alumna Teresa Dirks who will be recognized at the Show Me Center later in the evening during the annual Copper Dome Society Dinner as one of the University’s 2016 Alumni Merit Award recipients. Dirks, of Kansas City, MO, graduated from Southeast in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and a minor in art. The exhibit will remain on display through Dec. 9.

Endowed Scholarship Reception

Copper Dome Dinner and Merit Award Presentations

6:30 p.m. Show Me Center
Members of the University’s Copper Dome Society are invited to this annual dinner during which the Alumni Association’s 2016 Alumni Merit Awards will be presented along with the 2016 Faculty Merit Award. Homecoming Parade

9:30 a.m. from Capaha Park east on Broadway to Main Street and south on Main Street to Independence.
Sponsored by the Homecoming Planning Committee. The theme this year is "Superheroes & Villains: Unmask Your Potential."

Football Tailgate

10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. In front of Houck Stadium (Bellevue Street) and on various parking areas near the Wehking Alumni Center and Houck Field House
Prepare for the annual Homecoming football game with traditional tailgating featuring live music, refreshments, and appearances by the Redhawks Marching Band, Sundancers, Cheerleaders, and Rowdy! Also cheer on the football team as they stroll around the stadium in the Redhawk Walk two hours prior to kickoff. Personal tailgating space is available in the Wehking Alumni Center parking lots.

Stop by the Alumni and University Foundation Hospitality Tent on the corner of Bellevue Street and Houck Place in front of the stadium, meet Alumni Relations and University Foundation staff members and enjoy a free hot dog or chili dog while they last.

Academic Hall Dome Tours

10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Academic Hall Dome
Visit the recently-renovated Academic Hall Dome, learn the history of the University’s landmark administration building and sign your name alongside those of hundreds of other alumni who left their signatures inside the dome over the past century. Enter through the main entrance of Academic Hall (facing Normal Avenue).

Vets Corps Pig Roast

10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. main Wehking Alumni Center parking lot
Southeast alumni who are veterans and their guests are invited to this annual tailgate event sponsored by the Southeast Vets Corps Alumni. This event will take place on the main Wehking Alumni Center parking lot just west of the Alumni Center along Broadway.

Homecoming Football Game

Southeast vs. Jacksonville State, 1:00 p.m. Houck Stadium
Cheer the Redhawks as they battle their Ohio Valley Conference rivals, the Jacksonville State Gamecocks! Tickets start at $10 for adults and $5 for fans age 14 and under and can be purchased through the Southeast Athletics office, 1221 Broadway in Cape Girardeau. Tickets will also be available, while supplies last, at the ticket booths in front of Houck Stadium on the day of the game. Student admission is free with a valid Redhawks ID, and students are encouraged to cheer on the team in the Redhawks Nest student section. The University's 2016 Man and Woman of the Year will be announced during halftime.

Diamond Club Reception/Class of 1966 50-Year Reunion

3:00-6:00 p.m. Performing Arts Center, Southeast River Campus
Alumni age 70 and older, as well as members of the Class of 1966, are invited to a special Homecoming gathering in their honor. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided and a cash bar will be available. Alumni from the graduating classes of 1961, 1956, 1951, 1946 (etc.) will also be acknowledged. $20 per person payable online.
