The Graduate Business Student Association (GBSA) is an organization driven to facilitate and promote the development and preservation of relationships between graduate business students and Harrison College of Business faculty as well as between graduate business students and professionals in the Cape Girardeau community and beyond. The GBSA is managed by five student officers with the advisement of one faculty in the business school. Each semester the GBSA sponsors informal events for graduate business students, professors, and professionals with the goal of encouraging collaboration and the facilitating our graduate students' smooth transition from student life to professional life. All graduate business students are members of the association and are encouraged to participate in the various events though the year.
Some typical events that have been arranged in the past include Graduate Student Executive Mentoring (GEM) Fridays where executives come and tell their stories of their journey from student to executive. The GBSA also organizes bowling events and organize tailgates though the year allowing graduate business students to interact with business faculty in a less formal environment. The association also organizes a cook-off each year, which serves as a friendly competition between faculty and graduate business students and among the students.
The Graduate Business Student Association is an important part of the Graduate Business student life, which provides potential personal and professional relationships and help future graduates become successful.View more information on OrgSync.com
