Dr. Patrick provides diagnostic and therapeutic treatment services for individuals with autism and their families at the Autism Center. She holds a doctorate of philosophy in Community Clinical Psychology from Wichita State University. Her predoctoral internship was completed at Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center in Lawrence, KS. Dr. Patrick is a Licensed Psychologist in Missouri and Kansas. She has been working with individuals with autism, intellectual and other developmental disabilities for 12 years and has been providing therapy services for 13 years to individuals with a variety of mental health and comorbid presentations. Prior to coming to the Autism Center, Dr. Patrick was the director of a statewide behavioral consultation outreach program for individuals dually diagnosed with a developmental disability and a mental illness for the state of Kansas, on the Dual Diagnosis Treatment and Training Services project through Parsons State Hospital and Training Center, where she worked for 7 years. She continues to serve Southeast Kansas Community Developmental Disabilities Organization as an expert panel member on the agency’s psychotropic drug review committee. Dr. Patrick has been involved in research related to school readiness in young children at risk of school failure, externalizing and other behavioral problems in young children, and end of life planning and has several peer reviewed publications under each of these areas of research.
